CHELMSFORD, Mass. and MONTREAL--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 28, 2005--
Fast-growing airline sets sights on improved deployment of
crewmembers
Kronos(R) Incorporated (Nasdaq: KRON) today announced that Pinnacle Airlines, Inc. has purchased the Altitude PBS(TM) (Preferential Bidding System). Pinnacle Airlines, one of the fastest-growing airlines in the U.S., expects Altitude PBS to assist the airline in increasing crewmember productivity while respecting crewmember work preferences and quality of life.
Altitude PBS, developed by the Altitude Division of Kronos, automates and optimizes the scheduling process by creating optimal schedules for cockpit and cabin crews. Altitude PBS is a powerful scheduling system that takes crewmember preferences, collective agreements, regulatory constraints, and pre-assigned activities into account.
"Pinnacle Airlines is experiencing a period of rapid growth. However, Pinnacle's people continue to be focused on delivering superior operational performance levels and outstanding service to our customers," said Doug Shockey, chief operating officer for Pinnacle Airlines. "Our selection of Altitude PBS builds upon our efficient operations by helping us to optimally deploy our crewmembers."
With the Altitude PBS system, Pinnacle Airlines will manage 1,000 pilots and 600 flight attendants. In addition to Altitude PBS, Pinnacle Airlines uses Altitude Pairing(TM) to achieve customized crew pairing generation while respecting collective agreements, regulations, and corporate objectives.
"Pinnacle Airlines is an example of a well-run business that is striving for even greater productivity through better management of its workforce," said Jim Kizielewicz, Kronos vice president of corporate strategy. "Kronos offers a broad range of workforce management tools to help them achieve their workforce-related goals."
Note to editors: The Altitude Division was formerly a division of Montreal-based AD OPT Technologies Inc. Kronos Incorporated acquired AD OPT Technologies Inc. in November 2004.
