Philadelphia Parks Score with Staples and the Philadelphia Eagles
Staples, Inc. (Nasdaq: SPLS) today announced it has teamed up with the Philadelphia Eagles to launch Staples Dream Park Challenge, a park improvement initiative involving 15 parks in the greater Philadelphia area. From now through Nov. 17, residents can visit www.StaplesDreamPark.com/Eagles to vote for their local park to win the grand prize of $25,000 for improvements and a winner’s celebration featuring Eagles star Brian Dawkins at Lincoln Financial Field.
Residents can vote once per day for their local park online, and also pick up a free "power card” at any Philadelphia-area Staples store to have their online vote count 10 extra times. Voters will automatically be entered to win a chance to meet Dawkins in person at the Staples Dream Park Challenge winner’s celebration later this year. Additional prizes include $10,000 and $5,000 in park improvements for the first- and second-place runner-ups, respectively. The remaining 12 parks will receive $500 each for their participation.
"Public parks are the natural gathering places for our youth, where they develop the leadership, teamwork skills and confidence to guide them through life,” said Dawkins. "By giving public parks the opportunity to raise money for improvements, Staples and the Eagles are helping to ensure Philadelphia-area parks remain fun, safe places for children to learn and communities to grow.”
