Pfizer Health Solutions Outsources European-based IT Infrastructure and Hosting to SAVVIS

Under terms of the three-year, GBP 1.76 million pound contract,Pfizer Health Solutions will deploy SAVVIS' fully resilient ITinfrastructure solution in Europe. This includes managed networkservices, servers, storage, and disaster recovery services. As part ofthe solution, SAVVIS is also delivering managed security services thatutilise virtualised firewall, load balancing and intrusion detectionfor hosted infrastructure, and in-network firewalling for the widearea network. This IT infrastructure, provided as a service fromSAVVIS, will be delivered, managed, monitored, and fully replicatedvia SAVVIS data centres in Reading, U.K. and Frankfurt, Germany.

SAVVIS' managed hosting environment will support InformaCare(R), acomprehensive, proprietary, Internet-enabled care managementapplication that helps healthcare organisations manage populations andsupport individuals with selected chronic conditions. InformaCareassists nurse care managers in creating targeted, customised careplans for each patient across the health risk continuum, helping toimprove the quality and efficiency of care.
