PetPlace.com Launches Instagram Live Series: Tip Tuesday with Dr. Carey

PHILADELPHIA, June 10, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Have you noticed that your dog has a strange limp or your cat is sneezing more than usual? In an effort to address pet care concerns during COVID-19, PetPlace.com™ (PetPlace) has launched a new Instagram series, Tip Tuesday with Dr. Carey, to assist pets and their owners without having to leave the house.

PetPlace is a vet-founded pet information destination with over 1 million monthly visitors. It was created to help improve pet health with vet-sourced articles and advice, as well as current events, tips, and trends curated by an editorial team that includes veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and specialized authors.

"Since pet parents are spending more time at home and with their pets, they're picking up on things that may have gone unnoticed in the past. Unfortunately, the pandemic has stopped them from being able to address these potential issues with routine vet visits," said Matt Deapo, Editor-in-Chief for PetPlace.com.

Dr. Carey Hemmelgarn, DVM DACVECC, the vet behind Tip Tuesday, is a board-certified emergency and critical care clinician, specializing in small animals. Tip Tuesday with Dr. Carey will run each Tuesday on Instagram, and followers can direct-message (DM) their pet health questions to @PetPlace to be featured in a future segment. The first segment, which aired on May 26th, offered helpful and safe tricks for taking your cat outside.

"Our on-staff veterinarians and vet techs are always eager to help pet lovers," Deapo said. "And, thanks to Instagram, we're able to quickly address reader concerns via the new series."
