Showcases "Smart Thinking" to Help Customers Overcome Complex Challenges
PerkinElmer Inc. (NYSE: PKI), a global leader in Health Sciencesand Photonics, today announced new application-based laboratorysolutions and product enhancements for the environmental, pharmaceutical, materials and academic research market segments atPITTCON(R) 2006, March 13-15, booth # 2669.
New, innovative solutions being showcased include five turnkeyOzone Precursor Analyzer systems for remote environmental airmonitoring. Combining the Clarus(R) 500 multidimensional GasChromatograph (GC) with PerkinElmer's recently introduced family ofTurboMatrix(TM) Thermal Desorbers, the new systems offer single-tubeor automated (50-tube) configurations with either manual or fullyintegrated programmable pneumatic control (PPC) for maximumease-of-use and reliability for ozone precursor and air toxicsanalyses.
PerkinElmer is also featuring its latest WinLab32(TM) for AtomicAbsorption (AA) software with an integrated Quality Control (QC)Charting option to provide customers with a convenient andcomprehensive solution for increasing flexibility and productivity. The QC Charting feature allows laboratories to quickly and easilyprepare quality control charts from results, as well as storecustomized templates for future use, without purchasing additional,third-party software.
"Solving complex analytical problems in today's demandinglaboratory environments requires innovation, precision andreliability," said Robert F. Friel, president of PerkinElmer Life andAnalytical Sciences. "Our new product introductions and enhancementsat PITTCON 2006 will help provide customers with 'smart thinking'solutions to create greater efficiency and accuracy in theirlaboratories."
Additional product introductions include Jade(TM) DSC. A newmember of the Company's Thermal Analysis line of heat-fluxDifferential Scanning Calorimeters, Jade DSC offers new features toexpand application capabilities and operating convenience for routineapplications, QA/QC and education, including: a liquid nitrogencooling system to automate low temperature testing; improved baselineflatness and stability to assure accurate measurements; and advancesin autosampler control to increase sample throughput and improveproductivity.
LABWORKS(TM) LIMS v5.9 will also be unveiled at the show. Thelatest version of PerkinElmer's LABWORKS laboratory informationmanagement system is the first release built on an entirely newcomputing platform. The new architecture takes LABWORKS' longtradition of highly-configurable systems to a new level of tailoring.Using a new implementation tool kit, users can customize site-specificdata structure and presentation of their LIMS. Version 5.9 alsoincludes expanded security features for greater regulatory compliancewith ISO 17025 and other standards.
