Opus Group: Opus Inspection granted California BAR Certification for its third generation (GENIII) emission inspection system

Regulatory News:

The California Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR) has granted certification for Opus Inspection’s BAR97 GEN3 analyzer system.  This certification culminates a 2 ½ year development effort.

"We are very proud of our product development team led by Tom Fournier, CTO,” said Jim Sands, President of Opus Inspection. "The all new GENIII 5-gas and OBD analyzer extends our commitment to our customers in the California Smog Check program and cements our market leadership with the over 7,000 California Smog Check stations.”

No other company has achieved certification of a new BAR97 system in over fifteen years. Opus Inspection’s new-technology BAR97 system, the GENIII, is now available to thousands of California Smog Check businesses that are in need of more robust, modern inspection systems. Opus Inspection has already secured rental agreements for over 400 GENIII systems and expects more to follow now that official certification has been granted.
