Nutrisystem Q2 Results Top Estimates; Guides Q3 Below Consensus

(RTTNews) - Nutrisystem, Inc. (NTRI) reported net income for the second quarter of $8.7 million or $0.30 per share, compared to $6.4 million or $0.22 per share for the year-ago quarter.

Revenue for the second quarter rose 14% to $111.1 million from $97.5 million a year ago.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.26 per share on revenue of $109.43 million for the second quarter.

For the third quarter, the company expects revenue to be in the range of $85.0 million to $90.0 million and earnings per share to be in the range of $0.12 to $0.17. Analysts currently expect the company to earn $0.22 per share on revenue of $93.70 million for the third quarter.

For the full year 2014, the company updated its revenue guidance from a previous range of $392.0 million to $407.0 million to now be in the range of $397.0 million to $407.0 million.

The company raised its full year 2014 earnings per share guidance to a range of $0.60 to $0.68 from its prior guidance of $0.57 to $0.67 .

Analysts currently expect the company to earn $0.61 per share on revenue of $400.23 million for the full year 2014.
