Nuance Communications Q3 Loss Widens

(RTTNews) - Nuance Communications, Inc. (NUAN) reported a net loss for the third quarter of $54.2 million or $0.17 per share, compared to a net loss of $35.0 million or $0.11 per share for the year-ago quarter.

Excluding items, adjusted net income for the third quarter was $87.6 million or $0.27 per share, compared to $109.5 million or $0.34 per share in the third quarter of fiscal 2013.

Revenue for the third quarter rose to $475.5 million from $469.8 million a year ago, while adjusted revenue fell to $486.8 million from $490.8 million last year.

Analyst polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.27 per share on revenue of $498.56 million for the third quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
