NPS Pharma Loss Widens

(RTTNews) - NPS Pharmaceuticals Inc (NPSP) Monday reported third-quarter net loss of $2 million or $0.02 per share compared with a loss of $1 million or $0.01 per share last year.

Revenues for the quarter were $57.2 million compared with $39.2 million in the prior year.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters estimated earnings of $0.02 per share on revenues of $59.8 million for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

NPS Pharma reported net global Gattex/Revestive sales of $28.1 million for the quarter, up from $11million for the same period last year. Based on the company's expectations for the remainder of 2014, NPS currently anticipates its full-year net sales will be in the lower end of its guidance range of $100 million and $110 million.

For the full year, the company expects that The net sales will be at the low end of its guidance of $100 million to $110 million.
