Business Editors/Technology Editors
SALT LAKE CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 25, 2005--Evans & Sutherland Computer Corp. (E&S(R)) (NASDAQ: ESCC) announced today that E&S Digistar(R) 3 Laser has been selected by Northern Kentucky University (NKU) for their new planetarium currently under construction. Opening in 2006, the new planetarium will feature Digistar 3 Laser in a 30-foot-diameter dome. This marks the eighth Digistar 3 Laser system sold.
Dan Spence, digital planetarium director for NKU, said, "We have been waiting for this for a very long time. After many delays, starts, stops and funding applications, our decision to purchase Digistar 3 Laser is making our dream come true -- a dream to excite the imagination and, therefore, enhance the education of the young people of this entire region."
"NKU has been working with E&S for several years to make their digital planetarium a reality," said Jeri Panek, E&S digital theater director of sales. "We are very pleased that funding is now complete, and NKU has chosen the Digistar 3 Laser."

About Evans & Sutherland's Digistar 3 Laser
Digistar 3 Laser is a revolutionary new digital planetarium system that combines the features and power of Digistar 3 with the highest resolution video projection system in the world. Using the revolutionary E&S Laser Projector (ESLP(R)), Digistar 3 Laser is able to display nearly 16 million pixels on the dome, which is more than twice the image resolution of Digistar 3 using six CRT-based video projectors. Plus, the ESLP offers expanded color space: 12 bits per pixel (36-bit color) instead of the standard 8 bits per pixel (24-bit color). Digistar 3 Laser's ability to reproduce color exceeds any other visual display medium, including motion picture film.
