Nortek Names Pete Segar as President, Display Mount Solutions

PROVIDENCE, R.I., Oct. 7, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Nortek, Inc. (Nasdaq: NTK), a global diversified company with leading brands and innovative, technology-driven products and solutions for residential and commercial applications, today announced the appointment of Peter R. Segar, Ph.D. as group president of the company's Display Mount Solutions (DMS) segment, which operates as Ergotron, Inc.

A chemist by training, Segar has a lifelong passion for technology and innovation. He has proven experience in both technology and sales within Nortek and at other organizations. He provides DMS strong skills to ensure that product and process innovation keep pace with customer needs. Segar had served as interim president of the segment since January of 2013.

Prior to serving as interim group president at DMS, Segar was senior vice president and chief technical officer of Ergotron branded products from 2004 to 2010. He previously served in various management positions for Seagate Technology from 1994 to 2004. He began his career with IBM's Storage Systems Division in 1989. Segar holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of Minnesota and a doctorate in Chemistry from the University of Colorado.
