Company's Chief Architect for Video Joins Board of Directors for the International Multimedia Telecommunications Consortium
Andrea Basso, PhD and chief architect for video with NMS Communications (NASDAQ: NMSS), was recently elected to the board of directors for IMTC (International Multimedia Telecommunications Consortium, http://www.imtc.org).

At NMS Communications, Dr. Basso is responsible for enhanced services architectures and heads the video core technologies group. He has significant expertise in communications protocols for media delivery and he has been involved in the development of standards in several international bodies including IETF, ISO/MPEG, ITU-T and IMTC. In particular, Dr. Basso has been instrumental in the creation of Video Access (http://www.nmscommunications.com/solutions/videocommunications.html), NMS' toolkit for developing carrier-grade, standards-based mobile video applications and solutions. Compatible with the 3G-324M video standard, Video Access offers a complete mobile video development environment, field proven through interoperability testing done with IMTC and through carrier service deployments by NTT DoCoMo and others.
In his new role on the IMTC board, Dr. Basso will represent NMS as it continues to actively participate in various IMTC activities and promote international standards for real-time multimedia data. In addition to joining the IMTC board, Dr. Basso has been serving on the planning committee for the upcoming annual IMTC Forum, to be held in Eibsee, Germany, from May 10-12, 2005. Dr. Basso has been a dedicated contributor to building the Forum's theme, "The Future of Next Generation Networks: Convergence of VoIP, Videoconferencing and Mobile," its agenda and recommending and soliciting speakers in the industry.
