NiSource Q3 Profit Rises - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - NiSource Inc. (NI) reported that its third-quarter net income increased to $48.1 million or $0.16 per share, from $19.3 million or $0.06 per share, last year. Net operating earnings from continuing operations was $57.1 million, or $0.18 per share, for the three months ended September 30, 2013.

On average, nine analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report profit per share of $0.16 for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items. Total net revenues increased to $833.8 million, from $729.0 million, a year ago. Analysts expected revenue of $1.07 billion for the quarter. NiSource expects net operating earnings squarely within its guidance range of $1.50 to $1.60 per share for 2013. Analysts expect the company to report full year profit per share of $1.55.
