NiSource Backs FY EPS View, Posts Loss In Q3

(RTTNews) - Utility NiSource Inc. (NI) Tuesday reaffirmed that the company expects to deliver adjusted net operating earnings per share of $1.00 to $1.10 in 2016. Analysts look for earnings of $1.37 per share.

For the third quarter, net loss attributable to the company was $4.9 million, compared to profit of $31.4 million last year. Loss per share was $0.02, compared to earnings per share of $0.10 last year.

Income from continuing operations was $0.05 per share, compared to such a loss of $0.05 per share.

Net operating earnings were $0.06 per share, compared to a loss of $0.03 per share for the same period in 2014

On average, eight analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected earnings of $0.02 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Total net revenues rose to $608.1 million from $575.8 million in the prior year. Adjusted revenues were $612.0 million, compared to $589.3 million last year. Analysts expected revenues of $881.14 million.
