DULUTH, Ga.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 1, 2005--AGCO(R) Corporation (NYSE: AG) today unveiled the next generation of the popular Challenger MT200 compact tractor series. With the introduction of the new MT200B, Challenger compact tractors now feature more ruggedness, innovation, professional grade power, precision and performance than ever before - all backed by legendary, nationwide Caterpillar(R) dealer service.
"More and more professionals are turning to Challenger brand compacts as their primary machines. We've listened to their needs and responded with an MT200B Series that offers better styling, easier access to service points, greater hydraulic flow, improved ergonomics . . . in short, all around better performance," said Phil Jones, General Marketing Manager. According to Jones, the Challenger MT200B Series compacts are, "Built by pros, backed by pros, and designed for use by pros."
There have been more than 40 improvements made on the B Series, from new front axles with higher load capacities to new piston and fuel injection technology, improving durability while reducing sound levels. Also new, is a independent PTO system allowing control of the rate of engagement as well as the AutoPower IV(TM) transmission, enabling powershift capability. In addition to adding even more standard features and options for the professional user, driving an MT200B Series compact tractor is now much easier and more comfortable than ever before. Controls have been repositioned to improve ease of use and the operator platforms are some of the largest in the business. Routine maintenance is fast and efficient, with improved engine compartment access and service points - all can be done without tools.
The full line of Challenger MT200B Series tractors is sold and serviced exclusively by Cat dealers. Models ranging from 23 gross engine hp to 52 gross engine hp take their place alongside other Challenger brand equipment including, a rugged line of wheeled tractors up to 240 PTO hp, a high-quality family of hay equipment, and two of the most productive combines anywhere - and the Challenger brand continues to offer the most innovative and advanced rubber tracked tractors in the world.
"With the combination of Challenger tractors and Cat dealers, you won't find higher quality products backed by a higher level of dealer support anywhere," said Jones.
