NetApp Representative Appointed to SNIA Data Management Forum Board of Directors
Network Appliance, Inc. (NASDAQ:NTAP), a leading provider of storage and
data management solutions, is proud to announce that David Dale, who
serves as NetApp industry evangelist, was recently appointed to the SNIA
Data Management Forum Board of Directors. Along with the other
technology leaders, Dale will oversee the forum’s
vision, mission, and charter.
The SNIA Data Management Forum is a cooperative initiative of IT
professionals, vendors, integrators, and service providers who are
working to address customer information management issues related to
data protection, compliance, cost, and complexity.
In addition to his position on the SNIA Data Management Forum board of
directors, Dale is director of Industry Standards at NetApp. He is
responsible for identifying the industry standards activities that are
important to NetApp and its customers, determining the appropriate
participation level for NetApp, and representing NetApp in industry
associations and at industry events. With over 20 years of experience in
the computer industry, he has been extensively involved in industry and
standards activities, and currently serves on the board of directors of
the Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA), where he is chair of
the Strategic Alliances Committee and chair of the IP Storage Forum.
Dale joins a number of other NetApp experts in leadership roles in the
data backup and retention field, including Jason Iehl, NetApp consulting
systems engineer and chair of the Data Protection Initiative; Larry
Freeman, senior product marketing manager at NetApp and co-chair of the
Data Deduplication and Space Reduction Special Interest Group; and Gary
Zasman, NetApp director of Assessment, Optimization, Compliance &
Security Practice and co-chair of the 100 Year Archive Task Force.
