NBC Sports Broadcast of the 2006 Life Time Fitness Triathlon Set for Saturday, July 29, in High Definition

Life Time Fitness, Inc. (NYSE:LTM), a national operator ofdistinctive and large health and fitness centers, today announced thatNBC Sports will air the Life Time Fitness Triathlon nationally onSaturday, July 29 (4:30-6:00 p.m. EDT). For the first time, thebroadcast of America's most prominent Olympic-distance triathlon willbe offered in high definition.

Veteran sports commentator Ted Robinson, will be joined in thebroadcast booth by two-time world champion triathlete, Siri Lindley.Robinson and Lindley return to call the Life Time Fitness Triathlonfor the fourth consecutive year.

The Life Time Fitness Triathlon will take place on Saturday, July15, and will feature more than 40 of the world's elite professionaltriathletes along with some 2,500 amateurs testing the picturesquecourse at Lake Nokomis in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The professional race will again feature the unique timing systemthat has the women starting in front of the men by a predeterminedtime on the Olympic distance course. Thus, the entire pro field willbattle head-to-head for the event's record-setting cash and prizepurse of $500,000 and first place prize of $200,000.

In 2005, the professional women's head start was 9:32. WinnerCraig Alexander (1:59:32, including the 9:32 hard start) caught fellowAustralian Emma Snowsill (2:00:25) to win by only 53 seconds.

Alexander will return to defend his title in the Life Time Fitnessevent. Snowsill is also returning.

Joining Alexander and Snowsill will be more than 40 of the world'smost accomplished professional triathletes, including:

-- Hunter Kemper (USA) - Currently tied for #1 in the men's world rankings

-- Hamish Carter (NZL) - 2004 Olympic Gold Medalist

-- Kate Allen (AUT) - 2004 Olympic Gold Medalist

-- Vanessa Fernandez - (POR) - Currently #1 in women's world rankings

The Life Time Fitness Triathlon is a signature event of theMinneapolis Aquatennial, a premier, 67-year old community tradition inthe Twin Cities.
