National American University Swings To Profit On Lower Expenses - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - National American University Holdings Inc (NAUH) Wednesday reported first-quarter net earnings of $2.2 million or $0.09 per share compared with a loss of $0.3 million or $0.01 per share last year.

Revenues for the quarter were $29.3 million compared with $30.9 million in the prior year.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters estimated a loss of $0.02 per share on revenues of $28.9 million for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Operating expenses for the quarter decreased to $25.8 million from $31.3 million last year.

Enrollment by headcount decreased 7.6 percent from last year to 9,930 students as of August 31, 2014.

The company announced a cash dividend in the amount of $0.045 per share.
