MPT To Acquire Freehold Interests In Eight Private Hospitals In The UK

(RTTNews) - Medical Properties Trust, Inc. (MPW) has agreed with Secure Income REIT (SIR.L) under which Medical Properties Trust will acquire freehold interests in eight private hospitals in the UK for approximately $434 million. Under the deal, global healthcare provider Ramsay Health Care will Join MPT operators.

Ramsay Health Care is the fifth largest private hospital operator in the world. Ramsay is headquartered in Sydney, Australia and operates across 11 countries.

Including the Ramsay hospitals, Medical Properties Trust will now own 12 hospital facilities across the UK.
