Mortenson Announces Lois Martin as CFO; Sandy Sponem Retires

MINNEAPOLIS, May 2, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- M. A. Mortenson Company today announced that Lois Martin has joined the company as its chief financial officer. Martin assumes the role following the retirement of long-time CFO Sandy Sponem.

Lois Martin brings a wealth of experience as an executive leader across multiple industries, business models and capital structures. She most recently served as executive vice president and CFO at Ceridian Corporation, a provider of payroll, workforce management, benefits, human resources, compliance, and tax services. Prior to her role at Ceridian, Martin held CFO roles at Capella Education Company and Deluxe Corporation.

Martin is affiliated with the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), Women Corporate Directors (WCD), the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants (MNCPA), and Financial Executives International (FEI).

Sandy Sponem has retired following more than ten years as Mortenson's chief financial officer. As senior vice president and CFO, she was a part of the company's executive leadership team and led the growth and modernization of Mortenson's finance and accounting functions. Sponem also provided oversight for Mortenson's information technology group, and served on the company's investment, risk management, compliance and development committees. She is widely recognized for her commitment to the career development of Mortenson team members.
