Modine On Stage At The 8th Edition Of ATMOsphere Europe

RACINE, Wis., Nov. 14, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Modine Manufacturing Company (NYSE: MOD), participated in the 8th edition of ATMOsphere Europe, which took place in Berlin.  The event offered interactive workshops that brought together decision makers from industry and government to change the future of natural refrigerants.

ATMO's success is growing considerably. Berlin had the largest presence to date with over 430 attendees representing about 240 of the most dynamic European companies in the refrigeration industry.  The event consisted of a large number of our customers, equipment manufacturers, universities and government officials who animated three days of meetings and discussion forums.

Modine was a Gold Sponsor for the event and was represented by Emanuele Chiechi, Sales Manager; Michele Bivi, R&D Director Coils & Refrigeration Coolers; and Umberto Di Barbora, Global Product Manager Commercial Coolers.

The team attended the main conferences and Di Barbora took part in a round-table with moderators Armin Hafner (Norwegian University of Science and Technology) and Alvaro de Oña (Shecco) entitled "Leading European suppliers will give brief strategic and visionary presentations sharing their latest success stories, lessons learned, challenges and next steps regarding natural refrigerant-based technologies."

"For the first time, thanks to the cases studies that were presented, it was possible to demonstrate that the use of the natural refrigerants could be extended to a wider range of applications, in both the refrigeration and air conditioning markets" explains Di Barbora.  "The newly available technologies have allowed us to broaden the application range to include different latitudes and climates. With regards to CO2, which is already used in the retail sector, we now understand how it can be effectively introduced in smaller installations and industrial refrigeration systems. Our goal is to continue to expand the range of ECO coolers (a brand that was acquired by Modine at the end of 2016). In addition to the new cubic commercial coolers already present on the market, in the next few months we will introduce the new range dual discharge coolers hence expanding our assortment of units that can operate at a pressure of 80 bar."

Bivi adds, "The interest in natural refrigerants is growing steadily! Important manufacturers have presented significant case studies of installations with our products. Modine is very satisfied with what has been achieved so far! Of particular interest is the award that was presented by Accelerate Europe Magazine (recognizing excellence in advancing the adoption of natural refrigerants in Europe) to our customer Advansor for the installation they made for Stay Food in the Netherlands. Today it is the world's largest fully operational CO2 installation – with 3.4 MW of cooling power – seven transcritical "V" gas coolers designed and manufactured by Modine."

"ATMO is a good container for dealing with the market and other equipment manufacturers," explains Chiechi.  "Natural gas used in the refrigeration sector is now a well-established reality, but the regulations are still on the table and must be set forth. In many countries, audits and debates are underway.  In this scenario, the market is keen to evaluate all the useful proposals and in particular – for medium and large-scale installations – it seems that the introduction of CO2 systems is the preferred route.  This makes us feel positive for the future! Modine has a long experience in the CO2 sector, the great presence of our ECO brand coolers in many case studies presented at ATMO is a clear demonstration of the excellence of our products."

Modine is committed to providing the market with state-of-the-art solutions and bringing forward-looking technological innovation to the sector, in compliance to all new rules and regulations.
