MKS Instruments Q3 Adj. EPS Tops View; Guides Q4

(RTTNews) - MKS Instruments, Inc. (MKSI) Wednesday reported third-quarter net income of $2.5 million, compared to $2.6 million in the prior year period. Earnings per share for the latest third quarter was $0.05, same as last year.

Adjusted earnings for the quarter was $13.3 million or $0.25 per share, compared to $8.4 million or $0.16 per share in the previous year period. On average, six analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.21 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Total net revenues were $166.45 million, up from $141.45 million last year, while six analysts expected revenues of $164.64 million.

Looking ahead to the fourth quarter, the company said GAAP net income per share could range from $0.28 to $0.38, non-GAAP net earnings could range from $0.31 to $0.41 per share and revenues may range from $185 million to $200 million. Analysts currently expect the company to earn $0.32 per share on revenues of $179.99 million.
