Minister Duclos announces members of the Canada's Volunteer Awards National Advisory Committee

GATINEAU, QC, Oct. 5, 2017 /CNW/ - Volunteers make a difference to people in every community across Canada, and it is important to recognize the contributions that they make. Through Canada's Volunteer Awards, the Government of Canada aims to inspire Canadians from all walks of life to find new ways of making a difference in their communities and develop innovative and sustainable solutions to tackle social challenges.

Today, the Honourable Jean-Yves Duclos, Minister of Families, Children and Social Development, announced the members of the Canada's Volunteer Awards National Advisory Committee. The National Advisory Committee will play an important role in the assessment process for Canada's Volunteer Award nominations, as it will advise and assist the Minister on all matters relating to the selection of award recipients.

The National Advisory Committee is composed of 13 leaders with a passion and commitment in the field of volunteerism. Members include individuals with experience working or volunteering in the not-for-profit, voluntary and private sectors. The Canada's Volunteer Awards National Advisory Committee proudly represents Canada's cultural, linguistic and regional diversity.
