Microchip Receives Antitrust Clearance For Acquisition Of Atmel - Quick Facts
(RTTNews) - Microchip Technology Inc. announced, in connection with its pending acquisition of Atmel Corp. (ATML), the U.S. Federal Trade Commission cleared the transaction under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act. The German Federal Cartel Office also cleared the transaction.
Microchip said the Korea Fair Trade Commission continues to review the transaction. The transaction is also currently undergoing review from the French Ministry.
Microchip said the completion of the merger remains subject to certain closing conditions, including approval by Atmel stockholders. The special meeting of Atmel stockholder to consider approval of the merger is scheduled for April 1, 2016.
