Michael Osborn Named President of Macy's Home Store Division

Macy's Home Store, established in 2004, is responsible for thecentralized buying, merchandising and marketing of home furnishingsfor the company's 423 Macy's stores nationwide.

"Mike Osborn is one of Federated's most experienced and talentedoperations executives," said Federated Vice Chair Janet Grove, to whomMacy's Home Store reports. "He has demonstrated particular success inmanaging big-ticket businesses such as furniture, and in improving thein-store shopping experience. Mike and Tim Adams represent a dynamicteam to drive improvement in the division and build Macy's into apowerful destination for distinctive, lifestyle-based home fashions."

Osborn, 57, is a southern California native and graduate ofCalifornia State University with a degree in economics. He began hisretailing career in the data processing area at Bullock's, then adivision of Federated, in 1974. He became vice president of operationsfor Bullock's in 1984, and in 1989 moved to Burdines as senior vicepresident of operations. In 1993, Osborn was named executive vicepresident of administration at Stern's, then a separate division ofFederated based in Paramus, NJ. He was named president and chiefoperating officer of Burdines in 1994, and president of Macy's West inJune 2002.

Osborn will be relocating to New York. Currently, he and his wife,Betty, live in San Francisco.
