MetLife's Lisa M. Weber Named by FORTUNE Magazine to Its 50 Most Powerful Women in Business List for Fourth Year in a Row

Lisa M. Weber, president of Individual Business for MetLife, Inc. (NYSE: MET), has been named one of the "50 Most Powerful Women in Business” by FORTUNE magazine for the fourth consecutive year. This year she ranked number 36. Weber oversees the retail business segments, Individual Business and Auto & Home, of MetLife, one of the largest providers of insurance and other financial services to more than 70 million customers worldwide. In 2006, Individual Business and Auto & Home combined accounted for approximately half of the company’s operating earnings and revenues. Since being named to the position in 2004, Weber has pursued a retail growth strategy at MetLife that emphasizes meeting critical protection needs of clients through one of the most diverse distribution systems in the industry with 11,000 advisors and 130,000 points of sale. Weber is a member of the boards of several MetLife subsidiaries, including MetLife Bank and MetLife Auto & Home, for which she serves as chair.
