Mentor Graphics Q2 Profit Rises - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Mentor Graphics Corp. (MENT) Thursday said second-quarter profit attributable to the company shareholders increased to $23.98 million or $0.19 per share from $18.17 million or $0.16 per share in the comparable quarter last year.

Adjusted earnings for the quarter was $0.26 per share. On average, seven analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.17 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Revenues totaled $253.22 million, up from $240.81 million last year. Analysts expected revenues of $244.90 million. Looking ahead to the third quarter, the company expects to report earnings of $0.11 per share, with adjusted earnings of $0.19 per share. Revenues are expected to be about $260 million. Analysts currently expect the company to earn $0.19 per share on third-quarter revenues of $251.57 million.

For the fiscal year 2014, the company currently projects earnings of $1.31 per share, with adjusted earnings of $1.59 per share. The company earlier estimated earnings of about $1.33 per share, with adjusted earnings of $1.55 per share.
