Mellon Appoints Gabbianelli, Gockley, Rua Executive Vice Presidents; K
PITTSBURGH, Jan. 21 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Mellon Financial Corporation today announced that Rose M. Gabbianelli, James M. Gockley and Richard A. Rua have been appointed Executive Vice Presidents. David Kutch has been named Chairman of Mellon's Mid-Atlantic Region and Regional President of Private Wealth Management.
"These appointments reflect Mellon's understanding of the importance of the roles these four executives fill and its full commitment to them, as well as their outstanding accomplishments," said Martin G. McGuinn, chairman and chief executive officer of Mellon Financial Corporation.
Gabbianelli is Mellon's Head of Corporate Affairs. She joined Mellon in 2000 and is responsible for leading the global Corporate Affairs Department for Mellon, which includes: corporate communications, public relations, marketing and advertising, community affairs and charitable giving and e- commerce design and support services. She reports to McGuinn and is a member of Mellon's Senior Management Committee.
Gockley is Mellon's Chief Auditor. With responsibility for Mellon's corporate-wide Audit & Risk Review Department, he also supervises the Ethics Office, Corporate Investigations and Regulatory Support Units. He joined Mellon in 1983 and prior to 2002 held a number of positions within Mellon's Legal Department. Gockley has a dual reporting line to the Corporation's Audit Committee, and to McGuinn, and he is a member of Mellon's Senior Management Committee.
Rua is Mellon's Global Foreign Exchange Manager, with responsibility for the Derivatives Products and Foreign Exchange businesses. Rua joined Mellon in 1977; in 1986 he was appointed manager of the Derivatives Product Group and assumed the additional responsibility of Global Foreign Exchange manager in 1991. He reports to James Palermo, Vice Chairman, and is a member of Mellon's Senior Management Committee.
As Chairman of Mellon's Mid-Atlantic Region, Kutch will be based in Philadelphia and will serve as Mellon's primary point of contact for business and community interests in that region. He will also lead Private Wealth Management in the Mid-Atlantic region, in addition to continuing to leading Mellon's Private Banking Business. Kutch has been named to Mellon's Senior Management Committee, in recognition of his enhanced responsibilities and the Corporation's focus on growing its share of the private wealth business in the important mid-Atlantic region. Kutch reports to David Lamere, Vice Chairman.
