Maric College - Los Angeles Hosts Graduation for 172 Students Thursday Evening at Wilshire Ebell Theater

LOS ANGELES, July 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Maric College -- Los Angeles will hold graduation ceremonies this evening for its summer 2006 graduating class of 172 students. The ceremony will take place at 7:30 p.m. at the famous Wilshire Ebell Theater at 4401 West Eighth Street in Los Angeles. Mark Buch, Vice President of Operations for the Southern California Region of Kaplan Higher Education, will be the keynote speaker.

In April of 2005, Maric College - Los Angeles began offering new programs in the allied health field, including Pharmacy Technician and Massage Therapy. This ceremony will represent these programs' second class to graduate.

"There has been a growing demand for qualified entry-level professionals in the medical field in our community, and by shifting our educational and programmatic focus, Maric College is better able to address these needs," said Drew Totten, Director of Education for Maric College - Los Angeles.

According to the U.S. Department of Labor Employment Outlook 2005, entry-level Pharmacy Technician positions are expected to increase by at least 27 percent for the period of 2004 to 2014. Additionally, job opportunities for Massage Therapists are expected to grow between 18 to 26 percent from 2004 to 2014.

Maric College's graduates pursued studies in seven different diploma programs, including: Computer Networking; Computer Office Skills; Legal Administrative Assistant; Medical Coding and Billing; Medical Assistant; Massage Therapy and Pharmacy Technician.
