Manchester United Appoints Sportech's Cliff Baty As CFO - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - English football giant Manchester United Plc. (MANU) Monday announced that Cliff Baty will be joining the Club as Chief Financial Officer.

Since 2013, Baty, aged 45, has served as Chief Financial Officer and member of the Board of Directors of Sportech plc, a pool betting operator and technology supplier.

Prior to Sportech, he worked for several years at Ladbrokes plc in a number of senior finance roles including Finance Director of its eGaming and International businesses, as well as Ladbrokes businesses in Spain, Italy, and South Africa.

Before that, he was Group Financial Controller of Hilton Group plc.

Separately, Sportech noted that Baty's contract with Sportech has a notice period of 12 months, but his actual departure date will be confirmed in due course. In the meantime, he will continue with his existing responsibilities and the search for his successor, both internally and externally, has now commenced. Sportech further confirmed that talks are continuing with Canadian-based Contagious Gaming Inc. about the possibility of it making a recommended offer for Sportech.
