M6: The CSA’s Decision Spells the End for Paris Première

Created 29 years ago, Paris Première is an historic channel which, since its inception, has successfully offered its audience an ambitious alternative range of content.

Approval of Paris Première’s transition to free-to-air television would have contributed to both the diversity of the French audiovisual landscape and an improved range of programming for viewers. In this respect, it offered the chance to combine high quality television and financial stability. The channel now finds itself at risk, as repeatedly stated in the submission to the CSA and during hearings.

As a result, M6 Group is lodging an appeal with the Conseil d’État, which had previously cancelled the CSA’s decision.
