Linde Plc Q1 Adj. Pro Forma EPS Rises - Quick Facts
(RTTNews) - Linde plc (LIN) reported Friday that first-quarter net income declined to $517 million or $0.94 per share from $462 million or $1.59 per share last year. Income from continuing operations was $435 million or $0.79 per share, compared to $462 million or $1.59 per share in the year-ago quarter.
Excluding merger-related costs, adjusted pro forma earnings were $1.69 per share, compared to $1.51 per share in the prior-year quarter.
Reported sales for the quarter were $6.94 billion, compared to $2.98 billion last year. Adjusted pro forma sales were $6.91 billion, compared to $6.94 billion last year.
On average, analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $1.59 per share on revenues of $7.09 billion for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Linde plc is an Irish-domiciled multinational chemical company formed by the merger of Linde AG of Germany and Praxair of the United States. This is the first quarter operating as one combined company since satisfying the regulatory requirements on March 1.
