LeCroy Introduces New Serial Data Test Solution for the Data Storage M
Business Editors/High-Tech Editors
CHESTNUT RIDGE, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 2, 2005--LeCroy Corporation (NASDAQ: LCRY), a leading supplier of oscilloscopes and serial data test solutions, today introduced SAS InFusion(TM), an error injector and traffic modification tool. Developed by the Company's Protocol Solutions Group (formerly CATC), the SAS InFusion system injects protocol-level errors for Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) and Serial ATA (SATA) technologies to help engineers determine if the systems function in real-world operating conditions. The SAS InFusion error injector is the first traffic impairment and modification solution available on the market for SAS and SATA, and extends the reach of LeCroy's protocol solutions into the Data Storage market.
"The SAS InFusion error injector is the first product in an exciting new class of test equipment for the storage market," stated LeCroy Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Scott Bausback. "This serial data test solution provides us with a new point of entry for this market, where SAS and SATA systems are increasingly being used. Silicon and device manufacturers as well as enterprise-class storage integrators all need to verify that their products can operate effectively in real-world environments, whether in the lab or out in the field."
"We expect that this product will demonstrate the success of our strategy to grow our serial data solutions business through innovative new products and cross-selling opportunities in markets where LeCroy already had a strong presence," concluded Bausback.
"With OEMs targeting SAS and SATA storage devices for enterprise-level applications, there is a pressing need to verify error recovery and resiliency at the system level," said Harry Mason, director of Industry Marketing for LSI Logic Corporation. "As a leading provider of SAS host controller, expander, and host bus adapter technology, we often need to simulate intermittent drive problems to validate the behavior at the higher application layers."
