LeapFrog Enterprises Appoints David Nagel to Its Board of Directors
EMERYVILLE, Calif., Sept. 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- LeapFrog Enterprises, Inc. , a leading developer of innovative technology-based educational products, today announced the appointment of David Nagel to its Board of Directors. LeapFrog's Board unanimously approved the appointment of Dr. Nagel on September 6, 2005. He will begin serving on the LeapFrog Board effective immediately.

Dr. Nagel served as the President, Chief Executive Officer and a Director of PalmSource, Inc., a provider of operating system software platforms for smart mobile devices, from December 2001 to May 2005. From September 2001 to December 2001, he was Chief Executive Officer of the Platform Solutions Group at Palm, Inc. (now palmOne Inc.), which sells smart mobile devices. Prior to joining Palm, from 1996 to September 2001, Dr. Nagel was Chief Technology Officer of AT&T Corp., and prior to his tenure at AT&T, he held various positions at Apple Computer, most recently as Senior Vice President, Research and Development. In addition, before joining Apple, he was head of human factors research at NASA's Ames Research Center.
Dr. Nagel serves on the board of directors of Nuance Communications, Inc., a voice automation technology software company; Liberate Technologies, Inc., an interactive television software company; Tessera Technologies, Inc., a developer of semiconductor packaging technology; and ArcSoft, Inc., a privately-held developer of multimedia software for electronic devices. Dr. Nagel has a B.S. and an M.S. in engineering and a Ph.D. in experimental psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles.
