Leap Wireless Stockholders OK Proposed Merger With AT&T

(RTTNews) - Leap Wireless International, Inc. (LEAP), Thursday said at a special meeting, its stockholders voted to approve the proposed merger transaction with AT&T (T). The company said that more than 99 percent of the votes cast were in favor of the proposed merger agreement and over 78 percent of the votes cast voted in favor of the advisory proposal regarding executive compensation.

The deal remains subject to review by the Federal Communications Commission and the Department of Justice, and other closing conditions. AT&T Inc., in July agreed to acquire prepaid-wireless provider Leap Wireless International Inc. for about $1.19 billion in cash.
