L Brands Jan. Comps Up 9%; Sees Q4 EPS Slightly Above Prior Outlook

(RTTNews) - L brands, Inc (LB), the parent company of Victoria's Secret, PINK, Bath & Body Works, Henri Bendel and La Senza, Thursday said its comparable store sales increased 9 percent for the four weeks ended February 1. Net sales for the month, however, decreased to $731.2 million from $986.4 million a year ago.

Comparable store sales for the fourth quarter increased 1 percent. Net sales were $3.818 billion in the quarter, compared with $3.856 billion in the corresponding quarter last year.

Further, the company said it now expects fourth-quarter earnings per share to be slightly higher than its previous guidance of $1.60. On average, 31 analysts polled by Thomson-Reuters expect the company to report earnings of $1.60 for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude one-time items.

L Brands is scheduled to report fourth quarter earnings on February 26.
