Juniper Networks Q4 Results Top Estimates

(RTTNews) - Juniper Networks, Inc. (JNPR) reported a net loss for the fourth quarter of $769.6 million or $1.81 per share, compared to net income of $151.8 million or $0.30 per share for the year-ago quarter.

The latest quarter results include an estimated $850 million non-cash goodwill impairment charge related to the company's security reporting unit.

Excluding items, adjusted net income for the latest quarter was $179.3 million or $0.41 per share.

Net revenues for the fourth quarter fell 14% to $1.10 billion from $1.27 billion a year ago.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.31 per share on revenue of $1.06 billion for the fourth quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Looking forward, Juniper Networks forecasts first quarter revenues of $1.02 billion to $1.06 billion. Analysts currently expect the company to post revenue of $1.02 billion for the first quarter.
