Japan's Largest HFC Cable Service Provider Launches On-Demand Service

Serving over 1.6 Million TV Subscribers with over 7 Million Homes Passed, J-Com Broadband Selects Concurrent to Bring on-Demand to Japan
Concurrent Computer Corporation (NASDAQ: CCUR) today announced that Jupiter Telecommunications (J-COM Broadband), the largest broadband and hybrid fiber coax (HFC) cable service provider in Japan with over 1.6 million J-COM TV subscribing households and over 7 million homes passed, has successfully launched commercial on-demand services powered by Concurrent's MediaHawk(R) On-Demand Platform.
The Japanese market has enthusiastically embraced advanced digital television services with J-COM Broadband installing over 240,000 digital set-top boxes (STBs) within approximately one year after the announcement of digital services. Based on Concurrent's MediaHawk On-Demand Platform, on-demand services have been initially launched in the Tokyo area, with expansion of services planned for all digital STBs in Kansai, Kyushu and Sapporo within six months. In the launch of on-demand services, subscribers have access to more than 1,100 titles of Premium On Demand and Monthly On Demand programming including Japanese and Hollywood movies; children's programming; educational and self-improvement content; karaoke; and music videos. Subscribers also have access to Free On Demand, including local area and local government access programming.
