Janus Capital Group Q2 Profit Up, Yet Misses View

(RTTNews) - Janus Capital Group Inc. (JNS) Thursday announced a sharp increase in second quarter net income attributable to the common shareholders of $43.1 million from $35.1 million in the previous year. Earnings per share also increased to $0.23 from $0.19 last year. Second quarter 2015 net income included a $0.01 per share charge for deal costs associated with the acquisition of Kapstream Capital Pty Limited.

On average, 10 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.24 per share. Analysts estimates usually excludes special items.

Revenue for the quarter increased to $271.9 million from $231.2 million in the previous year. Wall Street analysts were looking for $269.18 million.

Average assets under management for the quarter were $193 billion compared to $174.4 billion a year ago.
