"The promise of straight through processing has long beendiscussed within the variable annuities industry, and whilesignificant progress has been made, there are several hurdles toovercome before the compliance, operating cost and efficiency benefitsof straight through processing are realized," said Mr. Jack. "I amexcited for the opportunity to discuss these critical business issuesat NAVA's Operations & Technology Conference and look forward toparticipating in a constructive dialogue on the industry's prioritiesmoving forward."
In his address, Mr. Jack will provide both the manufacturer anddistributor perspectives on the potential impact of STP, as well asthe industry challenges that have prevented the broad implementationof processing standards. "Industry-wide STP cannot be accomplished without a strongpartnership between manufacturers and distributors," continued Mr.Jack. "Furthermore, standards development is just the beginning of aproject that must also address issues pertaining to IT security, infrastructure and scale. While the scope of the task is intimidating,STP can ultimately provide significant -- and measurable -- benefitsto manufacturers, distributors, financial advisors and consumers."
