IXYS - Clare Introduces 8 Channel High Voltage Analog Switch Using Adv
Business Editors/High-Tech Editors
BEVERLY, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 25, 2005--Clare, an IXYS company (NASDAQ:SYXI), today announced the availability of the CPC7220, an 8-channel high voltage analog switch. This device is a low charge injection, high voltage integrated circuit intended for use in applications requiring high voltage switching controlled by low voltage signals such as ultrasound imaging systems. Input data is shifted into an 8-bit shift register and retained with an 8-bit latch. High voltage outputs are bi-directional switches capable of operating from various combinations of split power supplies up to 200V i.e. +50V/-150V or +100V/-100V. Parts are available in a surface mountable, 28-lead plastic chip carrier or a 48 lead TQFP.
The blocking voltage for the analog switch is 220V and the output on-state resistance is 22 ohms with tight small signal matching resistance per channel (5% typ). CMOS control logic offers low quiescent power dissipation with input clock frequency up 5MHz. Clare's unique patented SOI technology offers the ability to achieve extremely high output "off state" isolation (-58dB typical at 5MHz) and high immunity to switch crosstalk (-70dB typical at 5MHz). The CPC7220 is fabricated using Clare's patented HVIC process. The monolithic silicon features low power CMOS logic and high voltage complementary PMOS and DMOS switches, as well as some bipolar functions.
"The introduction of this part represents Clare's entry into the non-telecom high voltage IC market space. We are leveraging our long history in producing high voltage IC's for telecommunication, and deploying it in new markets that need the same level of integration, on chip isolation and reliability," commented Mark Heisig, General Manager of Clare. "Our unique technology when combined with our high voltage integrated circuit capability now offers customers cost effective solutions in many new areas such as medical imaging, printers, displays, test equipment, power management and other high voltage applications."
Pricing and Availability
The CPC7220 is available in sample and production quantities. In quantities of 1000 units the CPC7220 is priced at $9.45 with a standard leadtime of 14 weeks. Please contact Clare directly for additional information and sample on this device.
