Itron Inc. Q1 Earnings Climb 32%

(RTTNews) - Itron Inc. (ITRI) announced a profit for its first quarter that climbed compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line climbed to $22.19 million, or $0.57 per share. This was up from $16.83 million, or $0.44 per share, in last year's first quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.48 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter fell 4.0% to $477.59 million. This was down from $497.59 million last year.
