Intevac Receives Order for Four MDP-250 Systems; Scheduled for Delivery in Second-Half 2005

    SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 21, 2005--Intevac, Inc. (Nasdaq:IVAC) received an order for four Intevac(R) MDP-250 magnetic media sputtering systems. The MDP-250 systems were ordered by an existing MDP-250 customer and are scheduled for delivery during the second half of 2005.
    "Order activity for our systems is continuing at a high rate and is being driven by strong demand for hard disk drives and the expected transition to perpendicular media technology," remarked Intevac Chief Executive Kevin Fairbairn. "Year to date, we have received orders for 13 systems total, nine 200 Leans and four MDP-250s."
