InterVideo Adds LightScribe Certification with WinDVD Creator 2 Software; Latest Laser-Disc Technology to Burn Professional-Looking CD/DVD Labels in DiscLabel Application

    Business Editors/High-Tech Editors

FREMONT, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 16, 2005--InterVideo(R), Inc. (NASDAQ: IVII), leaders in multimedia software, announced today that its WinDVD Creator(TM) 2 software with DiscLabel application has received the official LightScribe(R) certification for the Direct Disc Labeling technology. LightScribe and InterVideo have collaborated to provide consumers a simple-to-use solution for creating professional looking CD/DVD labels burned directly on the disc.
LightScribe allows users to create a personalized professional CD/DVD label laser-etched directly onto the disc in just a few steps. Customers will simply need to flip over the same disc they used to burn their data and the disc labeling technology will burn a grey scale image directly on the label side of LightScribe enabled disc media. The label may include personalized text, artwork or photos the user has created or choose from the already designed templates in WinDVD Creator 2.
"WinDVD Creator and LightScribe technology deliver both the ease of use and burning and customizing of CDs and DVDs," said Kevin Jefcoate, Marketing Program Manager, LightScribe Europe. "We're pleased to work with InterVideo to give consumers an all-in-one DVD authoring program that will not only help them to create, edit, and share their home made videos but also help them personalize their disc labels with the LightScribe technology."
"We are excited to be partnering with LightScribe to include their innovative laserdisc technology with WinDVD Creator," said Steve Ro, CEO and President of InterVideo. "Including LightScribe with WinDVD Creator is an added benefit to our customers and InterVideo will continue to provide customers with the latest technology to enhance their digital media lifestyles."
Included with the WinDVD Creator 2 software, the DiscLabel application incorporates the LightScribe technology that enables users with a complete media burning process. With this technology, users can avoid using permanent markers to personalize their discs or using adhesive paper labels which may damage the disc contents. The unique LightScribe technology allows users to create professional-looking, silkscreen-quality labels on their CDs/DVDs while using the same media drive that burns their data.
WinDVD Creator 2 is an integrated software solution that takes the confusion and frustration out of creating home movies. With its advanced features and user-friendly wizard guide, users can add titles, transitions, effects, favorite background music, or DVD menus. In addition, WinDVD Creator 2 includes InterVideo's Direct Recording Technology that allows users to record videos from their camcorder directly to a disc without waiting for the video to be transferred and InterVideo's proprietary Unipass(TM) technology that skips the rendering and combines video editing and DVD creation into a single, time-saving step.
