Ingersoll-Rand PLC Reveals 14% Rise In Q3 Earnings

(RTTNews) - Ingersoll-Rand PLC (IR) reported a profit for its third quarter that rose from last year.

The company said its bottom line totaled $368.1 million, or $1.41 per share. This was higher than $323.5 million, or $1.21 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $1.29 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 2.3% to $3.57 billion. This was up from $3.49 billion last year.
