Identix Awarded Contracts from California State & Local Government Agencies for Full-Hand & Ten Print Enhanced Definition Live Scan Systems; Combined Orders Valued in Excess of $700,000

Identix Incorporated (Nasdaq:IDNX) announced today thatit has recently been awarded contracts from California state and localgovernment agencies for Identix(R) TouchPrint(TM) Enhanced Definition3000 line of Full-Hand and ten print Live Scan Systems. The purchaseorders are from agencies in California that primarily plan to use thenew live scan systems to upgrade and expand their existing network oflegacy Identix live scan systems. The systems will also help the lawenforcement agencies meet the requirements of California's Proposition69, which requires law enforcement officials to capture the handprints of certain felonious registrants and parolees. The orders,which have a total value in excess of $700,000, are expected to shipand be installed in the quarters ending June 30 and September 31,2006.

The TouchPrint Enhanced Definition 3000 Series exceeds the FBIAppendix F standard by providing 3.5 times the pixel density and 300percent more contrast, resulting in images that have far more fineridge detail than dictated by the Appendix F requirements. TheTouchPrint Enhanced Definition 3000 Series employs technologies thattake into account subjects with different size fingers and skincolors, sweaty fingers and users rolling fingers at different speeds.The systems produce clear, crisp fingerprint images with virtually nodistortion or false minutiae that can be caused by smudging andsmearing. TouchPrint Enhanced Definition 3000 Series systems aredesigned to maintain consistent image quality over time, and with nomoving parts in the optics deck and no silicon pads or coatings tochange, they provide maximum reliability and minimal downtime,lowering the total overall cost of ownership.

The TouchPrint Enhanced Definition 3000 Live Scan Series iscomprised of rugged and stylized terminals for roll and slapfingerprint capture that can be integrated with software for acomplete fingerprinting system in either desktop or transportableconfigurations, as well as standalone booking stations designed towithstand heavy traffic and harsh environments.

The TouchPrint 3800 employs a proprietary cylindrical imager thatenables the full hand - including the carpal crease, cup of the palm,and fingertips - to be captured in a single, intuitive step. There isno 'stitching together' of partial palm and finger images, which canresult in images being associated with the wrong record. Proprietaryoptics capture resolution enhances image quality, giving operatorsoptimal ridge detail information that can be used to help solve morecrimes.
