IAG Group Traffic Up In March - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - International Consolidated Airlines Group S.A. (ICAGY.PK, IAG.L), formed by the merger of British Airways plc. and Spanish flag carrier Iberia Lineas Aereas de Espana S.A., Tuesday reported that its traffic rose 13.9 percent and capacity increased 12.5 percent for the month of March 2016.

Group traffic, measured in Revenue Passenger Kilometers or RPKs, for the month grew 13.9 percent to 18.98 billion from 16.67 billion in the same month last year.

Group capacity, measured in Available Seat Kilometers or ASKs, rose 12.5 percent to 23.59 billion from 20.96 billion a year ago.

Passenger load factor for the month improved 1.0 point to 80.5 percent from 79.5 percent in the prior year.

The airline carried a total of 7.66 million passengers during the month, up 22 percent from last year's 6.28 million passengers.
