Humana 2008 Showcase Offers Health Screenings, Educational Seminars for Medicare Recipients

Blood pressure screenings and body fat analysis and seminars on senior wellness and health plan options are being offered free of charge to Medicare beneficiaries in the San Antonio area. Sponsored by Humana and the SilverSneakers Fitness Program, the Humana 2008 Showcase will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, January 12 at the Crossroads Convention Center in Crossroads Mall, 4522 Fredericksburg Road. The Humana 2008 Showcase will feature information on 2008 Humana Medicare health plan options as well as guest speakers on topics such as diabetes and heart health, identity theft protection and Medicare fraud. Interactive information booths will feature the services of the Bexar County Area Agency on Aging, Christian Senior Services, VIA Metropolitan Transit, Adult Protective Services, and the City of San Antonio Parks and Recreation Department. Blood pressure and body fat analysis will be provided through Virgin life care while SilverSneakers will provide an exercise and yoga demonstration. Participants are being asked to bring a gently used coat for the Christian Senior Services coat drive.
