Hospital Infection, Legionella Experts Urge Hospitals to Reduce Infection, Save Costs, Save Lives

MELVILLE, N.Y., Feb. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Two million people contract infections in United States healthcare facilities annually, adding an estimated $30 billion annually to the nation's health tab. This year alone more than 100,000 will die from these infections, the fourth leading cause of death in the U.S. New York-area consumers and health officials are increasingly concerned about this issue, especially since infection rates for New York hospitals will be made public beginning in 2008.

WHAT: A March 8 half-day seminar will update hospital decision makers on the growing impact of hospital infection and steps they can take to reduce their risk and improve profitability.
