Horizon Palm Springs Service Going Year-Round

    Business Editors/Travel Writers

SACRAMENTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 14, 2005--Horizon Air said today the airline will extend its seasonal nonstop flights between Sacramento and Palm Springs to year-round service.
The extension gives Sacramento travelers easy year-round access to Palm Springs, including the opportunity to take advantage of off-season deals at popular Palm Springs area golf courses, spas, and resorts.
"Every year we've extended the seasonal service to Palm Springs a little longer and demand has remained strong. The next logical step is to bridge the gap between spring and fall so that customers can count on us being there for them year-round," commented Bruce Tecklenburg, Horizon's director of schedule planning.
Horizon Air and its sister company, Alaska Airlines, also serve Sacramento with nonstop flights to Boise, Portland and Seattle. Horizon first began providing seasonal flights to the popular desert resort in January 2002.
Southbound flights depart Sacramento at 9:50 a.m. and arrive in Palm Springs at 11:20 a.m. Northbound flights depart Palm Springs at 11:55 a.m. and arrive in Sacramento at 1:35 p.m.
Low fares and a variety of economical Palm Springs vacation packages are available at www.horizonair.com.
Founded 24 years ago, Horizon Air served more than 5 million passengers last year. Horizon Air and Alaska Airlines, subsidiaries of Alaska Air Group, Inc. (NYSE:ALK), together serve more than 80 cities throughout the West. Horizon serves 46 cities throughout California, Washington, Arizona, Colorado, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, and British Columbia and Alberta. In 2004, Horizon Air's average on-time performance exceeded that of all major airlines tracked by the Department of Transportation.
